Suction Roll Rebuilds

The PRG Suction Roll Inspection/Rebuild Procedure:

  1. Inspect visually
  2. Remove suction box
  3. Remove drive side, tending side, and suction box assemblies
  4. Inspect the following:
    • Bearings
    • Bearing housings and bearing journal fits and conditions
    • Drive side and tending side head fits
    • Shim pack condition
    • Seals: end seals and longitudinal seals
    • End seal adjusting devices
    • Air load tubes and supply piping
    • Operation of suction box rotating device
    • Shower heads and nozzles
    • Removal rollers and skid blocks
    • Suction box lubrication and supply piping
    • Shell: visual outside and inside
  5. Inspection reports plus recommended repair/replacement costs will be provided O.D. Profile
  6. Estimate of the percentage of hole blockage
  7. Pressure-washing
  8. Vacuum pump test to check seal leakage

Additional services available:

  • Grind roll face
  • Pressure wash all internal components and surfaces
  • Clean all holes
  • Sandblast and paint components
  • Complete journal repairs as required or replaced
  • Convert spring system to pneumatic
  • Coat outside wear surfaces for super-hardness and extra-long performance between grinds
  • Balance roll dynamically
