Application Sales Engineer

Reports to:  VP, Sales & Marketing

Location:  Carrollton, GA

Employment:  Full Time

Salary:  $50,000 - $70,000 / year

Type:  Full-Time


Application Engineers are the primary technical resource for the field sales force (Account Managers), and are responsible for actively driving and managing the value added selling stage of the sales process.  Working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor, the Applications Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all states of the sales process.  The Applications Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.


  • Maintain expert level of operational knowledge and applications.
  • Articulate value added positioning to both corporate and operational personnel.
  • Conduct value added presentations of PRG services.
  • Present PRG services to customers at events such as conferences and seminars.
  • Develop value added sales tools.
  • Listen, understand, and convey customer requirements.
  • Perform technical training at customer accounts.
  • Maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence in company approved databases.
  • Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.
  • Maintain professional business relationships with specified accounts.
  • Provide status of ongoing projects.
  • Identify customer’s needs and sales opportunities to help future growth.
  • Provide training and support for the sales team.
  • Travel as necessary to customer sites.


  • BS in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Strong mechanical ability
  • Background with machining
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Available for travel 50%
  • General knowledge of paper machinery is desired.
